The Story of Celestial Ruin: The Beginning of Our Journey
### **A Gentle Soul in the Streets**
Our project didn’t start with a plan, it started with feeding a single, incredibly sweet stray cat we named Celestial Ruin. She never bit, never scratched, and was even calm and patient when we bathe her.
We soon realized Celestial was carrying a heavy secret, she was pregnant. One day, we found her three kittens, Deimos, Phobos, and Cookie, tucked away in the trench behind our house.
### **From Rescue to Mission**
Taking them in changed everything. As first-time "kitten parents," we committed ourselves fully to their care, from sourcing top-of-the-line food to researching vaccinations, spaying and shelters in our local area. But as we looked around our community, we realized we weren't alone.
We met a dedicated neighbor doing the same heart-led work, practicing TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) entirely on her own. However, like us, she struggled with the "Return" part. It is incredibly difficult to release these souls back into the streets once we've seen them thrive in a safe home.
We saw the need for a bridge, a way to fund this initiative by giving these stray cats a true chance at life and a platform to find the "forever homes" they deserve instead of sending them back to the streets.
### **Where They Are Now**
Today, Celestial Ruin and her trio are healthy, vaccinated, and spayed. As a tricoloured cat, Celestial Ruin is now a local star, she receives constant praise and treats from neighbors during her daily walks.
While they are safe with us for now, our goal is to find them a permanent place to land. Their story is why this website exists, we exist to support the quiet heroes in our neighborhood who are doing the work of an entire team all by themselves.
